An employer can make a moral judgment for HIS/HER company based on what they believe or envision for their company.

Putting a moral judgment clause in their company policy is well within their right. Again, if you work for a company, you must comply with their policies. Smoking and drinking are NOT moral issues.

While I do agree that employers should be respectful enough of their hard-working employees, I respect their right to build a company with the kind of people they deem most fit to do that.

I am an on-again, off-again smoker. (which is more than I can say for a year ago!), so I understand a smoker's needs, but I also have a huge amount of respect for, and a need to, comply with the policies of the company that helps put food on my family's table every day.
