Tim! Rob (Robbie) Graham here. News at kwpc/kfmh 8/4/79-11/1/81. I worked with Jeff Martin, Sue Chicos, Sherry Jensen, Blaine Calkins. I did not know about Kyle. What happened? I sure hope you see this and tell Steve Bridges hi. I've been with WINA Charlottesville, Va for a total of about 30 years. I was just googling kwpc and came across this while also searching for names.

 

Hi, Rob. I remember when you were here. Tim is not a member here on this message board. The station has sold a few times since you were here. Bridges bought a small am station in Iowa City and helps with the morning show. Blaine passed away a number of years ago and Kyle passed away in 2005. I will pass your message on to Tim and maybe he will look you up out there.

He got the job because he was politically connected.  He worked for the Republican under cover Republican political group called the NFIB.  He is managing the station just the way he wants it, and only lets the guest speakers that are believed to think as he does.   The radio station probably will not survive until someone can figure out how to make it successful, and it won't be the present leadership.

 

I have been told by more than one person that they don't wish to spend their advertising dollar on that station as its listener's is beyond imagination low, and they want to spend the advertising dollar where it will do some good.  Should banks and a hand full of other "majors" stop advertising it will close very soon.   The only possibility is the upcoming political races advertising dollar, and that is possibly just one party.

Why does listner numbers keep falling?

 

Why did John S. sell the station only to incompetent owners who couldn't pick the correct person to manage a "local" ststion?
