Iraq war Coalition Deaths 4,696

Injured 30,000

Iraqi civilian deaths and injured, 1,366,650

Afghanistan coalition Deaths 1,659

American taxpayers bill as of today $964,044,305,874

Yea...in case you forgot. This post does nothing to support our military. If so; can anyone post how?  In fact, these posts drive support for our enemies and the terrorists. The liberal mainstream press quit posting this daily when the communist obumbler took office. It was reported everyday when Bush was in office.

Can anyone state what good a post such as this does? Does it honor our veterans?

In who's reality is knowing the facts a bad thing?

As I've stated, I gave no insight into my opinion of what the numbers mean. All one has to do is simply look upon the numbers and say, it's either a fair price to pay or it's not.

How does it honor veterans? I'd think it honors them under the concept that veterans fought for the people. The rights of the people to be more specific. We the people, have the right to know the truth. In a round about way, it could be said, that this post honors veterans in that way.

Oh my GodSmile

I don't get that, what are you suggesting here? How's my life worth more than anyone else? Poppycock. Haiti, Chili, N.Korea, China, Africa, Central and S. America, Napal, Paru, Pakistan, Greece,  the list is endless. Millions of deaths and wars due to disasters, genocide, lands, food. As for Clinton's use of our military? I was quite against that purpose as it seemed contrived and almost a joke and have stated so more than once. He sent a tiny contingent that didn't stand a chance much like our Afghan invasion where the real killers were. We got involved in most of these conflicts since Nam due to corporate desire, stupid politics and grandiose egos. Our servicemen and woman are vocal on either side of that argument to be fair. The media hasn't a thing to do with starting the wars nor setting the stage for the pro or con. Sadam was already the bad killer dictator when he was shaking hands with Reagan's admin. He was already the civilian murderer when Cheney said he wasn't worth one US soldier's life. Not worth the endless quagmire it would have been" We forgot? the previous admin. put staggering restrictions on the media showing anything reflecting the maiming or deaths of our soldiers or any opinion-flexing images? But it's okay to push for the war based on images of what Sadam did to his own people?

That our nation went to fight for the freedom of Iraqis wasn't even close to the points outlined for that initial purpose, but evolved as the falsehoods, truths of intent grew more obvious. This is about the leaders, not our servicemen and women:::the followers. Besides, had we the same obligation to rescue millions of civilians of other nations since Carter was in office due to bad dictators, we'd be fighting as in Iraq, in several other nations other than for corp. profits and oil of the middle east. The lives taken by a bad man in Iraq pale horribly to those numbers of innocents killed the past seven years and far from just the more than a million in Iraq. Plus I am a granddaughter, a daughter, and I'm a mother fearing for her own child's future, while involved with several vets both past and present that offer the very same assessments both for and against the causes for this and other wars. Where our men and women charged into battle regardless of opinion because they are doing and did their duty. Any one of us can quote the varying feelings of our soldiers and apply them to our specific opinions and or causes both pro or con.. That isn't an honest representation of the over all sense we get from our fighting men and woman and you know it. There's a one tracked sense of duty on the battle field for some, like an uncle of mine, who didn't really care why, all he knew was that he's gonna rack up kills and blow up stuff.  But lets not talk about those who are there out of duty who just detest it. I love my dad, loved my brother, love my uncles and cousins and with that, take the feelings they all share and shared about our wars to heart. And, it's no surprise that they had differing opinions but fought just the same. It's also how we got the presidents we have, because we all think our own thoughts. You dare to challenge the 75% majority of an entire nation fed up with this bull? Get off my back and ::: Take a number.

Lucy.
