So the Montreal Gazette is reporting that the US President (from Kenya) is on a tour of the USA and speaks about unemployment and creating jobs, while he rides on a custom tour bus made in and ordered from Canada!

"The service acquired two of the new campaign-style buses last year as additions to the government's protective fleet. Could the government have purchased a bus that was made entirely, or almost entirely, in America? In theory, yes.

The only U.S.-headquartered coach manufacturer, Motor Coach Industries, based in Schamburg, Ill., also builds the country's only "buy American compliant" coach, the majority of whose parts are made here, an MCI spokeswoman said."

BB - ain't it sweet that the American taxpayers are footing the tab for this campaign tour. Of cousre he says it is not a campaign, but if it looks like a ...., talks like a ...., by gawd I think it is a ....!

And we hear the same old speech every other day for weeks on end now, except he did say that he will prresent a "plan" to Congress right after Labor Day which will do wonderful things (my words not his). Lord know that vacations are WAY more important than the economy/jobs. I did hear a snippet of his words today when he was obviously blaming Bush by saying that we had 2 unfunded wars and a medicare prescription plan not funded. I see he conveniently did not mention 911 and the enormous expenses connected to that disaster, but is giving excuses for his inability to turn the economy around on the earthquake in Japan and blah blah blah. He makes me want to puke!

My husband's best friend has a shelf filled with 60's Canadian Tonka trucks. The best running old Dodge van we used on the farm was built in canada. Perhaps he can go live there after the 2012 election. But that too has alot to do with free trade with our neighbors. I suspect the Daimlerchrystler corp. and canadian workers are happy about that.
