Obama alters deportation rules

Posted in: Muscatine

An article on page A6 in today's QC Times is entitled "Obama alters deportation rules".

How very interesting. "The Obama administration will allow many illegal immigrants facing deportation the chance to stay in this country and apply for a work permit, Obama administration officials said Thursday."

So what problems facing this country does that solve? Job creation? Don't think so. Sending a strong message ot illegal immigrants? Nope.

This article was written by Alicia A. Caldwell of the Associated Press for those who insist on a source.

Some in Congrss have complained that the "new policy circumvents Congress and ignores the oath of office they took to uphold the Constitution and the laws of the land."

Move
comes after Hispanics warn Obama on 2012 vote...

Immigrant rights activists protested in several cities across the country
this week against Obama's policies on deportation, warning they could cost him
votes from the Hispanic community when he runs for reelection in 2012.

Since we're giving illegals amnesty for the very first crime they committed in
our country, why not give people who came here legally a "Get Out of Jail Free"
card for the first crime they commit? It's only fair. These people respected our
laws, got in line to come here, paid all the fees, took all the tests...they
should be allowed one free crime for their trouble, don't you think?

HiRoad, I think we learned very early in life that life is not fair. It was and has been a difficult thing for most of us wrap our heads around and we fight it valiantly, trying to make life fair. I am no spring chicken, as I know most of us on here are not - at least not chronologically - so we have had many opportunities to witness this unfairness and we still do no like it one bit.
