One in five Texans are lower than the poverty level, according to CNN.  What is Muscatine's Poverty level?  Should we ask Perry to take Braindeads spot and fix it.  Braindead is attempting to claim the new ALCOA jobs are his making.   Earlier this week, Braindead was in Miscatine to hear HNI's announcement that they are firing a bunch of people in Georgia and bringing their jobs to Muscatine, and this is also because he is Gov.

When will Republican stop spinning and start telling the truth?  When will the people of Muscatine get jobs above the poverty level?

Oh; sorry...I thought you were worried aboyt the mayor's veto power????????

When will the people of Muscatine get jobs above the poverty level?

I am not aware we had a problem with jobs here in Muscatine being below the poverty level.  What do you base this on?  Yes there are homeless in our community but most are there because they choose to be by not wanting to work or seek any kind of employment.  Every community has that.  What jobs do we have that are sub-standard creating this poverty you speak of?  I think our community is a great place to work.  Yes, we have some unemployed people but so does every other community.  So I ask again (knowing I won't get an answer from you, I never do) what are the jobs of which you speak that are causing so much poverty?

And for those people who are below the poverty level I think this community does a great job helping out when and where it can.  So many churches have soup kitchens that those that can't afford it can eat.  MCSA does a great job helping out people.  The Salvation Army helps hundreds of people in need and they do this because this community helps support them.  Every year at Christmas time the Hawkeye Hauler is filled with donations people give to help the less fortunate in this community.  I just am not aware this community is so impoverished.  Please enlighten me.

Speaking of poverty; does anyone think we are in a recession?
