The Left Right Paradigm is Over: Its You vs. Corporations

Not some new revelation but good to see the thought being shared.

Source: http://www.ritholtz.com

But my bottom line is this:  If you see the world in terms of Left & Right, you really aren’t seeing the world at all . . .

Mobay,
The definitions of left and right are not precise and mean different things to different people.   I think I can still see the whole world, or at least try my best, and still define it into left and right components.

Define left as those who believe in fairness and equality and individual liberty.

Define right as those who believe in greed, selfishness and the concentration of power.

I think that works in a very basic form.

A majority of individuals fall into the former category.

Corporations mostly fall into the latter category.   But they have their allys in individuals, witting and unwitting.

do you not see the corporate take over of the government. who got bailed out and who got stuck with the bill, while the two parties blame each other the corporations, banks and their bought and paid for elected officials are destroying this country. Nafta, who got cheaper labor and who lost their jobs, the wars, who is over there dying and who is raking it in!!! the stimulus and qe1 and 2 helped who get richer and who is stuck paying for it!!!!

Mobay

You're right that the corporations are a big part of our problem but they wouldn't be such a large problem without their allys on the right.   Those are the people who provide the votes to elect the corporate minions to do their work in the congress, the legislatures and the executive offices of government.

You won't change the average corporation's behavior but you might get some of the right wingers to do a little more thinking and break off their allegiance.

Right wingers????   Think again Malodery:

from: http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/contrib.php?cid=N00009638

This table lists the top donors to Obama's campaign in the 2008    election cycle. The organizations themselves did not donate, rather the money came from the organization's PAC, its individual members or employees or owners, and those    individuals' immediate families. Organization totals include subsidiaries and affiliates.

Because of contribution limits, organizations that bundle together many individual contributions are    often among the top donors to presidential candidates. These contributions can come from the organization's members    or employees (and their families). The organization may support one candidate, or hedge its bets by supporting multiple    candidates. Groups with national networks of donors - like EMILY's List and Club for Growth - make for particularly big bundlers.

If you look at the top 5 contributors to Obumbler and McCain, you will see that that famous "right winger" Obumbler collected a signficantly greater amount of money from corporations than did McCain in the 2008 campaign:  (same source as above):

(approx. 2.68 million for Obumbler vs. approx. 1.57 for McCain)

Barack Obama

University of California                $1,648,685
Goldman Sachs                           $1,013,091
Harvard University                      $864,654
Microsoft Corp                          $852,167
Google Inc                              $814,540

John McCain

Merrill Lynch                           $375,895
JPMorgan Chase & Co                     $343,505
Citigroup Inc                           $338,202
Morgan Stanley                          $271,902
Goldman Sachs                           $240,295

I'm pretty sure the Obumbler and his cronies and czars are all Wobblies.  I'd throw Mobay in there too, based on his posts here:

Wob·bly

(wbl)

n. pl. Wob·blies
A member of the Industrial Workers of the World, a chiefly
US labor organization dedicated to the overthrow of capitalism, active
especially in the early 1900s.

Look 'em up!

I read in the Times that the group protesting is "Occupy Wall Street", so I googled and it seems they are supportd by Moveon/soros and the infamous van jones. They have no clear goal except to protest and will continue to do so as long as possible. They, like the potus, are anti-business.
