A simple question, but first facts.  Muscatine is one of the highest polluted cities ib the country.  Muscatine is the most polluted City i Iowa.

Who has Done more to reduce the pollution in Muscatine, MPW or GPC?

You’re likely to never get an answer out of these clowns. They know next to nothing and care even less. They get their enjoyment in making demeaning remarks and dreaming up scenarios for their entertainment. The routine is almost like the old story where people didn’t have to tell the whole joke because everybody had heard them all so often they just called out a number and everybody laughed. We’ve heard most of these guys childish remarks enough times that they could now do the same. They wouldn’t have to use double digits either.

In answer to your question: MPW has done the most to reduce emissions percentage wise to date. GPC may have done the most to reduce the actual amount of pollutants simply because they produce the more. GPC’s total emissions still far exceed those of MPW. Maybe ten fold. If GPC does what they have promised this last time, they will probably equal MPW percentage wise but still exceed them in total emissions.

GPC says they have ordered the equipment so I think they will follow through. They also say they will reduce odor. I’m a little doubtful on exactly how much.

I don’t think either has addressed mercury or nitrogen yet.

MPW is connected to the grid in multiple places and do buy and sell electricity based on price and their cost of generation.

In an article by Cynthia Beaudette is the following:

Seventy-three percent of sulfur dioxide emissions come from fossil fuel combustion at power plants, according to the EPA, with up to 20 percent coming from other industrial facilities

This article was printed in both the Muscatine Journal and the Quad City Times.

The article states that high levels of sulfur dioxide have been an ongoing problem in Muscatine.

So Republican, perhaps your question should be who is creating the air quality problems in Muscatine. If it is the sulfur dioxide problem that the EPA terms a 'health hazard', then who burns fossil fuels that create that problem? Is it MPW or GPC? Is GPC now burning coal?

Nice "demaning remarks" about demeaning remarks by others....

It would appear that you chose to overlook facts. I posted a few lines from an article that appeared in both the Muscatine Journal and the QC Times about the high sulfur dioxide levels in Muscatine earlier this month.

Perhaps the fact that 73% of sulfur dioxide emissions come from fossil fuel combustion at power plants, according to the EPA, with up to 20% coming from other industrial facilities.

If MPW is doing more to reduce the pollution in Muscatine as you infer and msmal claims - how is it that it appears that MPW is the greatest polluter? Can that be so when you so want to crucify GPC? After all, it is MPW that burns fossil fuels, not GPC. But I presume you think like a politcian - no longer in office but still a politician - that if you say the lie enough times you will get someone to believe you. I am not one of those.
