Let's see where this goes.   Will it boil down to simply D's or R's being totally at fault or can we search for what really went wrong?

I'm referring to the problems with the County Administration building.

The supervisors authorized the move and the money and signed the contracts.

The Auditor is nominally charged with looking after the Court House and, I think now, the remodeled building across the street.

The county engineer should have some knowledge of structures.   Was he involved?   Should he have been?

Was there an outside engineering firm retained to make an assessment?   There will be or is now.

The contractor should know bad construction when they see it.

Who was the contractor?   Did they know it was bad and said nothing?    Or did nobody listen?

Was there an architect on the job?   There should have been.   If there was, why didn't they recognize a problem?

Did HON simply dump a bad structure?

So, what went wrong to the tune of several hundred thousand dollars?

I agree there should be some accountability here.  My uneducated guess would be the building didn't just develope  this problem since its purchase.  Was there no inspection before spending the tax payer's money that now could be for naught.  Was the damage so silent that not one person suspected anything until it was discovered now being  in this possibly un-repairable state.  Questions should be answered.

How about starting a new thread, like I suggested, for any individual topic. Don't hide it in another thread. Keep it simple stupid.....ARMY acronym....KISS.
