There's no assumption required with a manure pile.   It's manure by definition.
You should widen your sources of information.   You're being mislead and don't even know it.

I suppose you believe being arrogant and saying "stick it in your ear" would better calm things and make friends.

Read the message and try to understand why these people are mad.

We don't have to make friends with radical muslims.  We need to instill respect and a certain amount of fear when dealing with that culture.

These "people" are always "mad" about something.  And "mad" in every sense of the word.  In the words of Rosanna Anna Danna: "It's always something" with them.  They don't need an excuse; they will manufacture one when they have to.

If you think diplomacy will win the hearts and minds of radical muslims you are a fool.

Just like any medeavil culture, they respect strength.  It's an historical fact.  In the obumbler they see weakness.   His apology only made matters worse.
