There, there Mal dear.  I won't muddle your synapses with any more convaluted articles from unnamed sources.  Just remember always...it's Bushs fault.  Barney Frank had nothing to do with it.  The Democrats were without fault.  It's not true that Obama has been so inept that he makes Jimmy Carter look like a genius.  Continue to ignore reality dear.....it's what we do best.  Like young Mike Genske back in Aledo.  He knew that rake was down there on the ground, pointy things up.  Stepped right on it anyway.  Poor Mike has a crease down the middle of his face to this day.  I heard that since Bush was president at the time the rake was made, the Genskes blame him to this day.

I voted for every republican since I was old enough to vote and am not ashamed to say it save one. Yes GW Bush. I gave him my support his first term. I am sorry for that. I didn't vote in 2004. Kerry was a moron in my eyes. So as we all know---------------------------------------------------This is the reality of the legacy of Bush.

The Bush tax cuts remain the single largest cause of America's structural deficit is, the deficit not caused by the collapse in tax revenues when the economy goes into recession. The Bush administration inherited budget surpluses from the Clinton administration. What turned these into deficits, even before the recession. There were three fundamental new costs—the tax cuts, the prescription-drug bill, and post-9/11 security spending (including the Iraq and Afghanistan wars). Of these the tax cuts were by far the largest, adding up to $2.3 trillion over 10 years. According to the Congressional Budget Office, nearly half the cost of all legislation enacted from 2001 to 2007 can be attributed to the tax cuts.

I would show the right wingers this but---------Everything they disbelieve is somehow a lie, and Bush was a God. Also the democratic congress caused it, Bush didn't sign anything damaging to this economy. Of course the majority is not guilty but for democrats. Some are good republicans like McCain. Well so am I, but not the kind these creeps are.

Long live the republic in spite of today's republican partgy.

You've summed it up quite nicely.   And you're right about the right's overuse of the word "lie".   Especially those who use it here.

'What turned these into deficits, even before the recession. There were three fundamental new costs'

A tax cut is not a "cost".  Costs are spending.  If the butt heads in D.C. don't have the money, they have to borrow to continue spending.  The tax cut is not a "cost" the same way that a reduction in your pay would not be a "cost".  By the way, that's what they did that put us in the hole.  In stead of cutting costs (spending) they borrowed the money and wrote the i.o.u. forging our and our children's signatures.  If I experience a "deficit" in my finances, the first thing I do is cut my spending to compensate!

And if the tax cuts are the largest contributor to the deficit, why does the obumbler want to extend the large majority of those tax cuts?

That's a lie!

But I would rather be accused of over-using the word; than to actually do it like mallcontent, BDumb, and davieboy have been proven to. Mallcontent even is on record apologizing to me for one.Cry
