Why is our potus saying that persons who work 60 - 80 hours a week to build their business that they didn't build that themselves? I notice that SOME are now protesting that stupid statement.

 

He was saying they didn't build all the infrastructure, economic system, or all the other things that were available when the business was started that helped it succeed.   It had nothing to do with what they did to build their business.

If you'd post the full quote, it would be obvious.

Let me tell you sister, the infrstructure, ecenomic system or all the other things that were available, were indeed available for ALL businesses that were started/opened. Some businesses thrived, some closed up, so don't tell me that the infrastructure made them succeed. It WAS because they worked harder, worked smarter and they BUILT THEIR BUSINESS. What's more, they as well as all of us paid for that infrastructure and etc. So can it lady!

Nobody said it wasn't available for everybody else.   They built their business, yes.

They didn't pay for all that infrastructure.   Did a guy farming today build the lock and dam system to ship his or her grain?   How many condtributed to the Rural Electric  System and how much?    The railroads?    The Interstate highway system?   The internet?   The electronic transfer of funds?

Our ancestors' taxes paid for any and all governmental projects.  And we continue to pay.  Most often without our consent.  Our children and grandchildren will also pay for the current corrupt government's kick-back projects and boondoggles.

Businesses are not built because of government, but often in spite of government.  Especially these days.

The obumbler was trying to schmooze and spin his communist philosophy.  That's all it was.  We all know it.

"If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen."

Pretty clear context to me.
