hiroad nails it again. Much of the so-called public infrastructure was built with private
money. The Golden Gate Bridge is a prime example.

Nobody said it wasn't available for everybody else. They built their business, yes. They didn't pay for all that infrastructure. Did a guy farming today build the lock and dam system to ship his or her grain? How many condtributed to the Rural Electric System and how much? The railroads? The Interstate highway system? The internet? The electronic transfer of funds?

We actually heard and read the full quote and we know exactly what the pos meant and what is in his heart. It was clear that he was saying that only "the government" (meaning his idea of a centrally controlled overlord) could have made all the businesses and small businesses possible. Nothing implies he meant only "the government". That's something invented in your mind. The commercial and industrial history of our country, dating back well into the 19th century, including all pioneer accomplishments and inventions, demonstrate how wrong he was. By the way, some the 20th century infrastructure was built by the taxpayers, not by the politicians or any party. The rest was built by private entities.
Built by the government with taxes from the people.
