Costas says? So we make legal purchase tougher for the citizen seeking self-protection while having no effect on the criminals. Perfect.

The criminals will always purchase them if they are available. (Or steal them.  So.......?   How do you propose to make them unavailable?  The same way it was done for booze during prohibition?   You do know that those who ignore history are bound to repeat it, right?)

 

Let's work on stricter laws on their sales for a start.  (To what purpose?  To what effect?   Come on....tell me why you think that is a good idea. )

 

Bob Costas says, 40% of buyers have not gone through a background check.  We can bet that down to near 0%.  (Bob Costas says?    You have to be joking, right?  What the hell does he know, and where does he get his numbers?  You actually believe him?  If so, you are dumber than we thought.)

A challenge for Mal while she's out shopping with her girlfriend.  Go into any store that legally sells firearms.  Just pick one.  Gander Mountain, B and B in Bettendorf, Scheels in Iowa City, L and R in Durant.......  Now, try to buy a gun without a background check or a CCP.  Let us know how it turns out. 

 

If it turns out the way we know it will, your 40% are apparently buying illegally.

 

My suggestions.....

 

1.  For using an illegal firearm in the commission of a crime.....death penalty.

2.  For anyone under the age of 18 illegally carrying.....first offense, 20 years no parole.

3.  Possession of a firearm in a gang related activity.....life sentence, no parole.

4.  Attempting to buy a firearm illegally.....25 years, no parole.

 

Come on libs.......let's get serious about this.

Stricter laws on sales? Possession is guaranteed by the constitution. Illegal sales to illegal consumers will always happen. That's crime. You're being selfish. You take rights away from proper owners in your world.
