Let me draw you a clearer picture. A man with a gun stands across the street and threatens me. Draws his piece and points it at me and fires. I can't outrun that bullet.
Now assume he draws a knife. Big one. I've got a thirty foot head start to get in my car and flee or get in my house and lock the door or a number of ways to try to escape.
Clear? Guns are more dangerous than knives.

So, do I understand your solution to the senseless killings from guns in the hands of those who shouldn't have them, is to have everybody have one.

I'd be scared to go to some football games knowing every one of those drunken, rabid fans had a loaded gun. Especially if my seat was in the opposing teams bleachers.
