I say, both!

Additionally, the normal situation is for her/him/it to pose some question about something that has already been answered in the media (or is obvious on it's face) with the hope that one of us will take the bait and pose an answer with which she/he/it can argue.  Thus controlling the thread and directing us down her/his/its chosen path to nowhere.

It is a variation of misdirection.  Most intelligent people recognize it as a waste of time and refuse to play the game.

Notice that she/he/it rarely answers a question or takes an unequivocal stand her/him/itself.  That's not in the game plan.  Only criticism of others and misdirection.

I think asking who the president was supposed to call and when are reasonable requests.

Would it be the seals as BS implies?

Who else would you suggest?

The Italian air base?   Hillary?   The Secretary of Defense? 

The ambassador to Libya?   Some official in the Libyan government?   Israel? 

I don't think BS has a good answer.   I think he merely threw in a comment he thought would make Obama look bad without any thought of how things could have been done differently.   And it backfired.

When was he to call them.   Two or three weeks before the attack?   During the attack?   After the attack.

Maybe one of you can tell us their version of how Benghazi could have been averted or should have been handled.   What mistakes were made and who made them.   The House Republicans don't seem to want to know.   They just want to keep it in the news and firmly embedded in their right wing followers brains as a Hillary or an Obama error even though it's much more complicated than that and others share more of the blame.

And if I point out some errors in your version, think of it as  helpfully correcting some mistaken ideas or gaps in your information.

You ask when a call should haveberen placed and what mistakes were made in connection with Benghazi and who made  them. First mistake was when our ambassador stated that he feared for his safety and requested additional security and it was denied. The directions from the state dept were to assume the appearance of "normalcy". Who made that mistake? No one will own up to that and ms clinton stated that she never saw a request for more security and my question is IF that is true WHY is it true? Who did not tell her?

Now my question to you is if one of those four Americans that were murdered that night by terrorists was your son/father/brother would you want answers? There are four dead Americans with families that want truthful answers as they were told that it was a demonstration protesting a video portraying muslims in an unfavorable light, which they found out was a bold-faced lie. As a matter of fact for a solid two weeks the potus was proclaiming the video fairy tale, even telling that at the podium of the UN. That, my fine feathered friend, is why the House Republicans are conducting hearings - to get some answers from those who have thus far avoided anything that resembles truth. One thing that has been revealed by the Congressional hearings so far is that this admin is by far the most uninformed as any we have ever had. "I don't know" has become the mantra of the state dept, the IRS, the AG, and the FBI - maybe that should be the campaign slogan for '14.
