We can only conclude that the malodery does believe that it is likely that the commies would shoot down a civilian flight. Less likely with notification than without. And as you complain that Obama should not have called for notification you apparently believe they should fly without. I'm glad we could clear that up. |

Here's my answer, Mallory:
The President should have told China, "NO!" Since commercial passenger airlines have been flying those routes for many years, they should not have to notify China every time they fly there. The technology exists that China can recognize which airplane is which. The President should have acted like he has a pair and told China that if the Chinese launch their fighters to intercept our airliners, we will launch our fighters as well, to intercept their fighters. If China shoots down one of the airliners it is not our fault. It rests with the Chinese for killing innocent people. Another thing, it is should not be the President's job, nor should it be in his power to dictate how an airline should conduct its business outside our borders.
You may not agree with my answer, but I believe that weakness was clearly shown by President Obama. If we cave in to China on this, the next thing you know, we'll be giving Iran money not to build a nuke. The next thing you know, we'll be making business owners go against their religious beliefs by making them include birth control and abortion coverage on health insurance. The next thing you know, we'll have a government shutdown which includes spending extra money to put barricades around an open-air monument to the greatest generation of soldiers the world has ever known. The next thing you know, the government will stop construction of a pipeline that would create jobs, generate revenue and decrease our country's dependency on foreign oil.
In my opinion, January 20, 2017 can't come soon enough.
