No, Women Don’t Make Less Money Than Men

It’s the bogus statistic that won’t die—and president deployed it during the State of the Union—but women do not make 77 cents to every dollar a man earns.

Malodery:  Please try to stay relevant.  See if you can stifle your weaselness on this one.  If you go back and read the article/link you will see that contrary to obumbler's implication that women are paid 23% less than men because someone is just trying to cheat them out of money, they actually make overall about 5% less than men and that this is most probably due to the choices they make in life, and not due to "discrimination".  Once again the liar in chief poops out a whopper.  And, by the way, as you probably already know, the master headline to the article stated women do not make less than men.  I neither support nor deny the accuracy of headlines.  And if you start picking  and parsing whether I said such a thing or not you are once again being a weasel.  It's not important to the overall argument.

Typical liberal hypocrisy:

then:

"Obama touts fair pay for women, despite records showing women paid less in his own White House

According to a report published by the Free Beacon in April, the 2011 annual report on White House staff revealed that the median annual salary for female White House employees was 18 percent less than male employees — $60,000 compared to $71,000.

And in 2008, Scripps Howard syndicated columnist Deroy Murdock noted that as in Obama’s U.S. Senate office, women were paid less than men: While the average male staffer brought home $54,397, female staffers averaged $45,152."

and now:

Obama Panders To Women But Treats Them Unfairly

In his State of the Union address last week, President Obama spoke of the gap between the average wages of men and women, saying “Women deserve equal pay for equal work.”

He’s used this issue before to bolster his image and to suggest he and his party are fighting for women.

But the truth is the president is all talk.

While he calls for equal pay for women, he doesn’t pay women equally in his own White House–at least not by the standard he used in the State of the Union. Female staffers earn less than their male colleagues.

Last year, the American Enterprise Institute examined payroll data and found that “in Obama’s own White House, female staffers make 88 cents for every dollar a male staffer earns.” That’s a pay gap of 12 percent.

In 2012 the fact-checking organization PolitiFact also ran the numbers and reached a similar conclusion at 87 cents for every dollar.
