To some of us 58 is old.   If you don't like it, what's your number when you're old?

 

 

I never said I liked it or disliked it. I only said you were being age-discriminatory towards that lady. And THAT...is the exact definition of age discrimination! You seem to forget, once again, davie, that you don't answer for "some of us".  Don't draw others into your hate-filled and discriminatory vortex. Thanks for showing us all another of your guilty traits.


My what a little hissie fit over describing a 58 year woman old as old.  She's well past the median age for women in this country.   Would you call her a young woman?   A girl?

Are you telling me I can never use the term old and young again?   How do you suggest we differentiate between ages of people?

I'll ask again, what is your number for being old?

It looks like a couple of the boys here don't share your views.

 

I really believe if they had left the nurse si down beside the victim for a few minutes and calmed her down and quietly said, honey, we have to change your cloths, and gotten the scary looking men out of the area, no confrontation would have occurred.  Maybe the jail needs a nurse with additional training but this could have worked.

Yes, msmal, that can work with someone who does not have "mental problems" but hardly probable for someone whose brain functions MUCH differently. Some of these poor souls have gone to theaters and killed innocent persons, some have gone to schools and shot innocent persons so do you honestly think if someone sat down beside them and talked calmly that would be the answer? Do you seriously believe they would ditch those plans? Please tell us that is not what you think.


All mental problems are not equal.   Those you refer to had a gun or multiple guns in their hands.   I would agree, if I sat down beside one of those, I would likely be killed.   That"s what they intended to do.   I don't think the 58 year old woman had that intent or the means. 

 

But do you remember Antoinette Tuff, a young woman of Georgia, who calmly convinced a young man, intent on killing a bunch of people, to put down his weapons and surrender?    Maybe it would work more often than you think.

The problem is not the prisoner, but the Sheriff department along with the County Attorney.  The sheriff jailers should have been trained on the mentally ill handling.

 

The County Attorney should not have lied about the E-mail.  The truth always need to be spoken by all parties.  

 

Would you believe me if the power given to both fall under the state laws of PUBLIC SAFETY, not public torture.   She was arrested for calling the 911 number, and got the crap beaten out of her.  How many women can you name that has her body pressed to the table by grabbing her thighs far above the knee?
