hiroad, what are your feelings on Obamacare?  I think it should and will become good.  It merely takes time to be tweeked.  Do you have some suggestions for improvement?

What are my "feelings" about obamacare?  I have thoughts about obamacare based on what I have learned over the last seven decades.

Obamacare (the feds taking over our nations healthcare/meddling in our healthcare) is a cancer.

How do improve a cancer?  We all know the answer.

Our founding fathers, and the patriots who supported them at the time, overwhelmingly agreed to institute a nation with a very limited federal/centralized government.  They intended the people to be self governing and that that governance would be almost wholly done by the states and at the local level.  They feared the idea of  "one size fits all" central government laws, with few exceptions.  Those exceptions, simplified: the founders thought that the federal government should handle issues that it would be difficult or unreasonable for states to handle such as the maintenance of military and defense operations, negotiating with foreign countries, creating currency, and regulating commerce with foreign countries. Ideally, individual states would then handle all and most matters that they reasonably could.

That was the entire purpose of the U.S. Constitution.

How do you improve a cancer?  We all know what needs to be done, don't we?

If obamacare is so good, how come congressmen, senators, and their staffers have been given waivers?

And how do you explain this?   "Restaurants in Nancy Pelosi's (D-Calif.) district have exemptions. As Americans for Prosperity notes, “When ObamaCare was in its infancy, the Obama administration began handing out waivers to employers for various other provisions of the law. In early 2011, the administration issued waiver after waiver to politically connected businesses [such as] restaurants and hip nightclubs in former-Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s district.”

It obviously was too good for them!
