Dear Arthur and friends, The Ford/Toyota example is the same way my former boss went out of business. He ran a meat market that was fairly successful. The primary mistake my former boss made was to rely on consultants rather than his own fairly good instincts. In January 1990, the market emptied out his goods and locked up. In retrospect, if my former manager relied on his own instincts, his former business would still be there. By the way, Toyota used to study the Ford assembly line in the 1920's. Incidentally, Wal-Mart owner Sam Walton used to study the workings of Ann & Hope in Cumberland.
