Thank you for your response, your insights are appreciated.  Our community has enjoyed the benefits of enhanced landscaping the last two summers and will once again experience a renewal this season, the new plantings are on order and shoudl be installed withing the next month.  We have also added weed control treatments and watering of our beds during the summer months.  The point being, you will see the improvements.  I have recently started to walk the community on a health walk and have notice many things during these walks.  First, there are neighbors out there that are doing a stellar job of keeping their properties up and landscapes pristene, a sure indication that some of us do care about this community and maintaining property values.  Next, while the idea of a playground sounds great and would be an asset, the only available common ground we have is all situated around a retention pond.  Probably not the best location for a playground.

It would be interesting to know what we pay the guy that cuts the grass. The effort he puts out is not very impressive. The grass around some ponds needs cut! Where is he?

And now he wants more money because of gas? what a joke

Not just concerned starting to get p$%^issed

Again, thanks for the response.  I can't quote the exact price we pay right now because I don't have it in front of me but I can assure you it is within reason.  This contract is something we look at every year and our contractor is aligned with all others in our area.  The fuel sur charge is something that is just a factor that probably wasn't in play when the contracts were signed a couple of years ago but were a stipulation of that same contract.  This rider serves to protect the contractor and is an accepted practice throughout the industry.  They don't let you know, but we are all paying the surcharge everytime we go through the line at the grocery store.  Having been a Landscape and Lawn care contractor in the past, I was impressed with our current contractors attention to detail, and would like to hear some of your more specific concerns.  The contractor we currently use was once the President of our board of directors.  I saw this as somewhat a bit of conflict of interest and that is exactly why I became involved.  Since that time, he has moved and continues to do an excellent job (in my opinion of caring to our mowing needs), if you have specific concerns, please air them.  I am sure if I take the complaint or concern to him he will be more than willing to accomodate.  You can't fix it if you don't know it is broken, and unless we hear from folks like you in our community, we won't know what to tell the contractors conducting business with our community.  Again thanks for your input and I look forward to hearing back from you.
