The residences within the "Oakchase Ln Neighborhood Watch & Problem Solving" area were built in about 1984. The area was in Shelby County but now has been taken into the City of Memphis. The Postal Zip Code for this area is 38125.


This roadway between Riverdale and South Germantown Road is used often as a secondary route to the subdivisions east of South Germantown Road and when traffic is backed up at Riverdale and Shelby Drive.

BOUNDARIES

The neighborhood area begins on Shadow Oaks Drive east of Timber Rise Road including Crimson Leaf Cove, Shadow Oaks Cove, then curving south including Water Oak Cove, then to the intersection of Oak Chase Lane, continuing east and west on Oak Chase Lane including Spring Oak Cove, Oak Chase Cove, then to South Germantown Road.

About our association

WHAT IS NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH & PROBLEM SOLVING?

Neighborhood Watch and Problem Solving is a shared responsibility and connection between the City authorities, police, and community. The goal is to make our neighborhood a safer, more livable area through crime prevention and problem solving strategies. It is the major goal and overall philosophy of Oak Chase Ln Neighborhood Watch & Problem Solving Policing.

It involves:
• Neighbors getting to know each other and working together.
• Implementing crime prevention techniques and strategies in homes and neighborhoods.
• Helping to solve neighborhood problems through a partnership between you and your police department and other City authorities.
• Learning about other public and private agencies that can be resources in helping to solve neighborhood problems.

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?

Join and become active in our Oakchase Ln Neighborhood Watch and Problem Solving group. If you are not within the boundaries of this group then become a leader in your neighborhood and start one! Simply contact our coordinator and they will help you get started.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A MEETING AND HOW OFTEN DO YOU MEET?

Usually a meeting consists of all residents (hopefully) but normally 10-30 neighbors attend. A typical meeting lasts about two hours. We try to schedule a community leader or service representative to attend and talk about crime prevention and problem solving strategies that our group might use in our neighborhood. Future meetings will be held when necessary; but normally once a month.
