well rob - I guess you will have to attend 1/20.. I wont be around that week,, but if you could let us know what goes on there... I cant believe this whole development is gonna swallow this $165 dollar crap so easily..
we need a computer like we need a new hole in our ass... the same goes for irrigation of the circle and front area...big waste of money... btw : find out if every house in here is paying dues...I'd be willing to bet that some are saying - NO WAY !!! also : why aren't these board memebers more accesible - like via a site like this... they should be explaining away on here - why the increase ...and be able to justify it.. instead they hide out- in cognito- like a bunch of losers ! ...afraid to deal with us..

In these tough economic times I found it very disheartening to open my letter from the Orchard Hill Home Owners Association. To see that the board took advantage of Article IV, Section 3 (a) was a surprise to me and many others that I have spoken with. This allows for the board to increase fees each year not more than 10% above the maximum permitted from the annual assessment amount for the previous year. Not only were the fee increased they were increased by the maximum of 10%.
I understand that there is meeting on January 20th and that Mr. Kaleyias will elaborate as to why our dues have been increased. For those of us who are unable to attend the meeting this information will be of no use. I was taken off guard in the format in which the letter was presented. The letter is quick to point out when the money is due and what will happen to you if you do not pay by the 31st. It does not give any explanation as to why our fees are being increased. This bothers me. During these tough times my family is pinching pennies in every aspect of life. Whether it is turning the heat down a couple degrees, watching what we buy, or going without we are cutting back. I would think that the board would be watching they're spending as well and going without in certain areas. Yes, I know that $15 is not a lot but spread that over the entire community and this is some serious money. I implore the board to reconsider their increase and instead of an increase decrease our yearly fee.
I have been speaking with many friends and family members who live in various developments around Sussex County. Did you know that the Rehoboth Beach Country Club only pays $155? We our no Rehoboth Beach County Club. Most fees range from $125-$150 but what I found interesting about these fees is that they include the use of a Club House or a pool. What are we getting?
In closing, I believe that one of our board members needs to inform the members of the association as to why our fees are being increased prior to the January 20th meeting. This we are owed.

Some excellent points , Joe... HOWEVER : Mr kaleyias ran for the board on the premise that he would be able to get our fees DOWN ...he even threw out the number $100 per year.. Now he is a turncoat ...and playing ball with the other ridiculous members that feel that orchard hill is some kind of country club for ex jerseyite losers.. If we dont put a stop to them and their nonsense -you can coubt on 200 a year and rising... then you'll never be able to sell when people see the ridiculous double taxes we pay here, outrageous water, electric and sewer rates... and like you mentioned =other developments with MORE ammenities than we have here are paying LESS ! |
