Just had to respond

As much as I want to keep out of these discussions because I'm tired of all these anonymous posters taking jabs, I couldn't resist one more time.

Central Mom, why don't you run for the school board? You want the current members to resign, but don't you recall that NO NEW FACES were willing to put their necks on the chopping block this past election? And, while you have no evidence, you're positive it's Lisa Reade posting? I'm glad the school board isn't making decisions solely on gut feel. Just because a councilman didn't agree with Lisa's enrollment numbers doesn't make Lisa wrong. Call the district office, they'll tell you how many kids are currently enrolled. These numbers are not made up. In fact, they're reported to the State!

Many complain on this site and believe that what they've ''heard'' is the truth. Why don't people ask questions, of those that have the answers? I believe both bands were invited to the Rose Bowl, not due to whining on the part of North parents & band director, but because neither band was big enough on their own to meet Rose Bowl committee requirements. Check that one out!

As for you expecting the school board members to respond on this site, you've got to be kidding! Why would they subject themselves to the anonymous, and often unfounded, ridicule that is so common here? If you have a question for the board, send it to their email addresses (found on the district website) and at least some, if not all, will respond. I've found that to be the case when I've asked questions.

As for Bruce, I fully support his efforts. He's asking questions and providing information. He's asked for brainstorming of ideas which should not include criticism of suggestions made. He has a wealth of knowledge and personal experience from being a school board member. I think he can provide some insight to the board, regarding the next buiding bond issue. I hope he doesn't give up in his efforts.

I don't believe anyone expects to participate in this interchange of ideas only to get attacked by other (anonymous) posters. To disagree is fine; to attack, often without basis, is wrong.

My vote

I say we appoint Amy as the Sgt. at Arms for the school board.

Her first duty would be to ensure that our free speech rights are removed.

I think you should hold off on your next tirade until you've had a chance to review all the postings presented here. I have my facts straight from reliable sources and personal research. The notion that school growth numbers being exagerated is not a feeling nor a gut instinct. They are fact.

As to running for school board, perhaps you should ask yourself the same... With all due respect, you certainly seem to have a great many of the counter points to the postings presented here. I would recommend that you toss your name into the ring for the next board member election rather than taking shots at the people postings their thoughts in this forum. Please remember that I was simply responding to a request from Bruce to gather information regarding what it would take to pass a levy.

If you Central-parent hot heads are so convinced the school board is nefarious and is lying to you then why don't you go down to Lacaster and petition the county attorney to convene a investigatory grand jury? Of course, then you'll have to testify under oath and won't that be something for a change. Nothing like a grand jury summons to quiet the gossip.
