why some strings ''hide''
Sometimes on this site, if people post to discussion strings and continue to reply to a ''reply'' on a particular string by clicking the response line, after a time and three or four responses to that reply string, ( via clicking ) the string will show in the numbers of responses column but not on the discussion topic page, you can only find it by digging into each reply to the original posting. Why this happens, I do not know and we are unable to fix it but have tried. Some people get around this quirk by replying via clicking on the original message as that ALWAYS SHOWS on the topic page. I hope this is not confusing but it is an annoying quirk in the site that we cannot control.

They heard you
Actually that was on the ballot in November of 2004 - I was in the minority and voted yes.
It was for one large elementary school on the Sycamore Creek site & additions at two elementary schools & two middle schools.
BOE states 6958 people say ''yes'' and 14,010 vote ''no''. Apparently they heard us loud and clear. Turnout was one of the biggest ever due to a presidential election.

My Turn Again
1. My figures on the useful life of the portables is based on the manufacturer's figures and state guidelines.
2. Speaking of which, the Sycamore site isn't large enough for a bigger elementary school. Those pesky state laws again.
3. The discussion neglects the State of Ohio standing by to write us a rebate check for 50% of our construction costs. It's raining free money, grab yourself a bucket! This money is free by the way, it's a trust fund set up from Ohio share of the tobacco settlement. The Legislature can't touch it. But if we don't want it then it goes to some other district. Use it or loose it.
4. I think it strange that in a state with some 300 school districts, Pickerington which is one the richest 50 districts, has to buy somebody else's cast of trash to house or should I say warehouse our kids. Did I say ''strange'' I meant shame.
