Connect the dots

Connection made

It?’s amazing how many of the members of the NW Republican Club want to tell their tales. They are nervous as they are seeing the postings on this site and witnessing the results of speaking out or staying true to the founding principles of the club instead of the daily political principles. Cup of coffee or a couple of beers and the truth begins to emerge. My husband and I went to dinner with a couple of ladies who are members last night.

It seems like there is a connection between Brian Sauer and Mitch O?’Brien outside this zoning board disgrace. It seems that O?’Brien is a founding member of the club. It seems that Sauer is the current president. It seems that Hackworth and O?’Brien were the committee to get people to run for officers in the club. It seems that Hackworth and O?’Brien talked Sauer into running for president and supported him. Real bad move, eh guys?

In another posting there was reference to a deal made between O?’Brien and this club regarding endorsements. Well the deal was between president Sauer and O?’Brien. Since O?’Brien helped write the constitution and bylaws back when Sauer was still in high school, O?’Brien told Sauer that he understood that the club couldn?’t endorse anyone but republicans. Sauer said he conferred with past presidents (Fix, Farmer and Elsea) and yes indeed they couldn?’t endorse non-republicans. O?’Brien said that since his slate had two independents he would not be seeking the club?’s partisan endorsement in this nonpartisan race so when the club passed out slate cards with their endorsements as they did in the past it wouldn?’t serve to confuse voters. Sauer said this was agreeable.

The endorsement process began in late August although to hear the story told, the endorsements were already decided far in advance. Now is where a new connection is made in all this. Shaver approached the two independents on O?’Brien?’s slate to offer his full support to them if they applied for endorsement of this club. Also approaching these two were other elected officials in the city and others. Lots of pressure. One of the candidates was forthcoming with the slate as to seeking the club endorsement while the other told no one until the day before his interview. No one, not even O?’Brien who had laid it all on the line to keep this slate together. Of these two, the forthcoming one sits on the sidelines with O?’Brien and the secretive one sits on council. The one on the sidelines is now awaiting his punishment like O?’Brien received.

So you?’ve got Sauer completely blindsiding O?’Brien after O?’Brien was the one to approach him for the presidency of this club and after putting the honor and integrity of the club ahead of his own agenda. How?’s that for a fine thank you? Then you have Sauer running Fix?’s campaign to oust O?’Brien as punishment. Then you have Sauer filling O?’Brien?’s seat on the zoning committee after he was fired as punishment.

More to come

More dots

Crime and punishment Pickerington style. Oh wait, there was no crime, just punishment. Well hopefully this isn?’t an indicator of things to come. We know Fix is pro-growth as he had developers making campaign calls for him. I haven?’t seen the campaign finance reports to see how many developers funded Fix but now you?’ve got Fix?’s boy on zoning and a warning sent to the other board members. Couple more seat changes and the developers are back and in charge. Lord help us.

I am so disappointed at what becomes of some people when they get into a position they feel is filled with power. Except for Hackworth and Wisniewski and maybe Hammond who is silent as a lamb, we seem to have reverted back to the old days. A mayor and manager run amok with politics and more. Can this city ever drag its face out of the mud and give us what we thought we had in 04 and 05? Or will it never change as politics and politicians never change?

Having easily made connections between Sauer, Shaver and O?’Brien, I have to wonder how many other connections can be as easily made if we just dig a little. What lies just beneath the surface? How are Elsea and Farmer, both candidates for higher offices connected to this? Did one of the sideline sitter?’s cousin Farmer really say of his vice-president of the club that ?“He isn?’t worth the cost of postage?”? Are the Montgomery and Blackwell campaigns a factor in decisions being made in all parts of politics in our little corner of the county? Is cronyism our way now?

This is one republican woman who has had enough. I no longer believe in our city government. I vote each and every time I can. I will now vote against everyone who participates in this sham. I hope Michael Sabatino runs against Shaver for mayor. I?’ll gladly vote for Sabatino any day over someone like Shaver. At least his is up front about his contrary nature.

Give me a friggin' break

Oh my gosh. You guys keep me in stitches. Politics and this website are like a train wreck. We all know driving by that we are going to see a lot of mangled metal but we can?’t help ourselves from slowing down and looking anyway. Judicial races, commissioner races, state representative races and governor?’s races ?– all this can be tied to a group of elitist egotists calling themselves good republicans led by a developer?’s attorney in Lancaster who thinks all of this is good politics and will make the party stronger! Give me a break. Are all you R?’s that insecure and threatened that you resort to all this? Come on, the D?’s are coming on but not this strong. Can we start a democrat PATA so we can see what they?’re up to? Maybe, just maybe we?’ll get a different soap opera. This O?’Brien guy posted here and said it like it was. Isn?’t that the end of it? He served when called and lost an election and faded quietly and with dignity from the spotlight. Why must his name still come up? In your attempts to defend him you may get a different result. Look up pariah in your dictionary. Leave him be. If you have more than innuendo and anonymous accusations in your arsenal, collect it up and march down to city hall and present it publicly. If you have this theory about county politics go see the Dispatch. They need a new entity to destroy.

By the way if there were truly 33 people at this recall meeting the other day why haven?’t we heard a peep out of least one of them? You always have one in your group who wants to sound like a big shot and they will blab. If they didn?’t this site wouldn?’t even exist.
