my apology to Coyote & others
My Dearest Coyote,
First of all you assume that I am a Mr. Anonymous. That is extremely sexist of you!
Second, I was not whining about PATA being dead. I was simply stating the fact. Once upon a time there was a face attached to PATA. Modern day PATA has no face! It is simply the ranting of maybe a dozen people that still post here and garner a wide audience or check the discussion area hourly to keep the hit report up.
Thirdly, The Webmaster/PATA leaders are NOW fictional characters. Honestly I do not care if posters remain anonymous.
Will you actually reveal who you are if I do? Who are the COWARDS? Like I said before grow a set and gain credibility as the Webmaster/PATA leader.
Your best advice ever was to delete the PATA link from my fave's. Thank you coyote! Now kindly go find a length of rope and tie it to a tree. Then strap an Acme rocket to your arse wrap the rope around your neck and light the fuse.
Have a nice day!
Dear Newsletters Cost Money,
DUH?
I am thinking that Bob & Co. would have been all over the BIG BOX RETAIL in the Township. PATA has done nothing regarding this other than posting easily obtained public documents on this site. Is PATA for the big box or against it? I have not figured that one out yet.
You said something about it being more economical by publishing the newsletter on this site. I delivered thousands in addition to the last newsletter that is published on this site (2003). There have been NO NEW newsletters to publish on this site. The importance of a newsletter in my mind is obviously to deliver news but also to keep ongoing issues in the mind of the reader. And apparently the only time to have a newsletter is when times are bad.
Who do I make my check out to for the PATA cause? And what does it pay for?
I agree things SEEM better now?…. Trust me they are headed back to the same ole same ole. (rapidly)

do not need to be on big box
Anon,
I think PATA does not need to be all over big box, it seems to me that many community groups are all over this issue..in spades. and frankly that is the way it should be in my view. This big box affects everything, everyone should be involved and this opposition needs many faces not one.
I received three phone calls about the last hearing, all calls were sponsored by
different groups, and regardless of the landowners belief that it is the unions primarily in oppostion, a little investigation led me to find out that it is nearly everyone in opposition, all for different reasons. So pata does not need to lead here the community is leading quite nicely on this issue.
Sure we all miss the newsletter and all the other things pata was know for back then, but I think you should be thankful that somebody took over this site, and keeps it up. We were ready to close up shop for more than three years as nobody who had any time to devote to this site would step up when Bob left or after for a long time.
Bob was unique...and very smart...he moved. IF you email PATA and offer your help, I am sure the webmasters would see what they could offer you.
thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Get your story straight
Anonymous he/she...
You need to read your original posting before you sling anymore of your venom. You said that you were tired of the anonymous posters to this site. Then, in response to my posting, you change your tune and say that you don't care if people want to post anonymously and that you only want to know who the Roadrunner and Coyote are. I think you said that you wish to put a face to PATA.
I need to ask... who cares who we are? What does it matter? I'm sure that Bob Harding was a great guy. I never met him, but he is no longer here, let's move on. Bob, Lisa, Coyote or Rodarunner... what makes the difference? We said in our original posting when we took on the webmaster role, that we were going to serve as guides and that this was not our site, it is yours. Let's make it out to be whatever you want. Anyone can create and maintain their own personal blog, that is not the intent here. Unfortunately, you've lost site of that fact.
I have no intention of telling you or anyone else on this blog my real name. Quite frankly, I could care less if you tell me who you are either because I don't think I want to know. PATA is what it is, either live with it or seek life elsewhere.

My Reply
Two sides to every coin
I was hesitant to chime in here because of the obvious polarity of the posters and the inconsistencies of the anti-PATA poster. First let me say that I did know Bob Harding and worked side by side with him in preparing newsletters, stuffing bags and delivering much more than my share. Let me also say that I didn?’t always agree with Bob and at times recommended strongly against a newsletter item or two and it even got to the point where I once thought about throwing away the two or three hundred I was set to deliver because I felt they got way too adversarial. But then I remembered what Coyote is saying in his or her postings. PATA was not Bob. He told me so on several occasions. PATA was a large, anonymous, and ever-changing in numbers group that took it to task to make changes.
There are two sides to every coin. In this case there is the side that wants PATA to carry on, in whatever form, even if it is just an anonymous blog for posting rants. Then there is the side that the anti-PATA poster is on where all they want is for it to go away for it often strikes too close to their heart or risks exposing them for what they are. In many cases these same anti-PATA ?“rage-aholics?” were once its most avid supporters. When it served them and their agendas it was the best but now that things have turned against some of these people, they want it destroyed.
I personally weighed both sides of the coin before agreeing to take over as webmaster. There was a time that I enjoyed the postings simply for the entertainment value. Remember Mysterious Mark, Daring Debbie, Old Fart, Court Jester and Soap Box Hero? These are classics. I had way too much fun keeping up with their banter and was surprised how much I learned from them. There was a time earlier this year when I also thought PATA had died and not because Bob wasn?’t here. It was more because of the usual Pickerington complacency. Everyone thought all was well and so forget about it. Then we began to learn that all wasn?’t well and we again erred with our complacency. An election cycle went awry, newspapers began investigating our supposedly most trusted elected officials, and politics once again began to take over all elected offices and high placed hired officials. We began to ask ourselves who we can trust or if there ever will be anyone we can trust to represent us and not themselves.
PATA again began a resurgence. I detected some of the people who began posting in PATA years ago had returned along with some new posters. Apparently again, people wanted change and chose this forum to effect change. Visits to the website and the discussion area are at record highs. Work is still under way to create a history site where we can move older item so we don?’t have to delete them. Countless times the webmasters have asked for suggestions. They have researched other avenues to produce a PATA clone all with little to no suggestions, help or advice from any of the PATA viewers. So for any of you who think that PATA has died, you are wrong. PATA has evolved, I?’ll grant you that but it won?’t die. That is not to the credit of any webmaster, fictional or non-fictional named. PATA won?’t die because Pickerington won?’t let it.
