Heard a little tidbit about the big game.

The Panther fans were or are going to wear trash bags with ''Central's Finest'' printed on them.

Also heard that central in reatliation has printed t-shirts that say ''We Teach Not Feel''

Guess even the kids at North feel they are socially and financially superior. What an excellent community we live in.

I went to two stores today that were sold out of purple t-shirts. I heard that North was wearing black t-shirts & Central was wearing purple t-shirts.

According to the Dispatch Bob Thiede is wearing buckeye colors to the game.

Central 54, North 47

WESTERVILLE, Ohio

Stephanie Stevens scored 24 points and Pickington Central held on to a first-half lead to beat crosstown rival Pickerington North 54-to-47 tonight in a Division One girls regional championship game.

Emilee Harmon added 11 points for the Tigers (23-and-3 on the year), ranked Number 9 in the final regular-season Associated Press poll.

Megan Askew had 14 points and Lauren Potts 11 for North (20-and-6 on the season).

Central advances to the state tournament for the 11th time, having won championships in 1985, '90, '92, '93, '98 and '99. The school, which used to be known as Pickerington High School, finished second in '94 and 2000.

The Tigers used a 16-to-7 advantage in the second quarter to build a 31-to-19 halftime lead, then held on while the Panthers outscored them 10-to-9 and 18-to-14 in the final two quarters to pull close at the finish.

Sports Fans

I think the correct phrase was ''Teach, don't touch.''

The North ''fans'' were throwing phony cash at the Central fans. In many cases they first tore up the fake bills and said ''you wouldn't know what to do with cash anyway.''

Not siding with either fan base but my respect for Chuck Kemper has grown even more with the way he prepared his students for the clash.

Chuck, you have the grace and dignity to lead this district. Have you ever thought of becoming superintendent? I head Thiede's contract is up soon and no one wants to spend a lot of time on a renewal.

People, call your Groveport friends and tell them that the white trash bags won't appear at their games anymore. North uses them all now for Central.
