Less Houses
Fight for the infrastructure and against big box later. Let the rezoning of the property happen now.

Wal-Mart will have for lunch
The problem with your theory is that the Trustees can enforce anything and once it is zoned they must go along for the free ride. Once it is re-zoned do you really believe they can stand up to the Wal-Marts of the world? |

More houses
So you want more houses? My theory is REZONE it to commercial now while the landowners want to do it. Fight the eventual ''undesirable'' development later! |

Keeping me awake
Wow, the Einstein's that visit this site never fail to amaze me. Let me get this straight. We currently have a little over 100 acres in the Township that is zoned for homes. If we leave that land zoned for homes then we will be at risk of more homes being built because we can't stop them. So the brilliant plan is to re-zone to a zoning district that would accommodate say a Wal-Mart and we will worry about the infrastructure later. Is this the same township that does not have the authority to put up stop signs for speeders but they are going to stop or some how regulate a Wal-Mart? Do all of you people that think just being active in the community by circulating petitions will stop Wal-Mart once you re-zone the Ricketts Farm? Let's compare, both the Reynoldsburg and Canal Winchester Wal-Marts are in municipalities. When the Canal residents had issues with trucks parked all night long idling and keeping them awake they stopped it a month or so. Now compare that to the Charts night club down on Basil Western and the complaints of late night noise. The neighbors finally gave up and they are selling their homes. Mainly because the Township could not enforce their own noise ordinance. Then let's worry about the infrastructure later. I think the two big boxes above are both very near major freeways. Currently the Refugee and Pickerington roads are miles away on two lane roads that will be going right through the middle of Pickerington which already has traffic problems and you all say worry about the roads later. Give me a break. By Restless |
