Precisely
You're right on the mark. But you see, council MUST get their quotes. Riggs taught them well at counting quotes. Substance doesn't matter.

My two cents
My family and I have lived right off Pickerington Road for many years and we use the intersection at Route 33 many times each week. For us, this is a convenient access to Canal Winchester, Lancaster and other destinations. I personally use this intersection at least once a week in the warmer months to cross 33 on my way to Pine Hill golf course. For this intersection to be closed by the Ohio Department of Transportation in favor of a right in, right out only access point will created a major headache for me.
Yet I say close it. In fact, close it as soon as possible. I grew up in Fairfield County and this intersection has had a great many accidents and something must be done. We have all heard that ODOT is making 33 into an inter-state highway and this sort of closure was bound to happen sooner or later. This is simply another step in the process of the inter-state project. Will the closure of the Pickerington Rd ?– Route 33 intersection cause some headaches for a few years? Yes it will. Will this result in an increased amount of traffic on county roads such as Basil-Western , Diley and other? Yes it will. Will many township and city residents need to find an alternative route to shopping, schools and golf courses? Yes, they will.
This sounds like a major pain in the hind quarters but if this action causes one less accident to occur, one less life to be lost, it?’s worth the pain. We all knew this was coming. Let?’s suck it up and move on. It?’s time for city residents to stop taking shots at the state agencies and city officials using a topic such as this to get people riled up with political banter. Let ODOT move forward with established projects and allow them to do their job.

Finally, A Rational Voice!
A rational voice is somewhat like an oasis in the desert here in Bickerington. It's nice to know someone can put aside their own personal conveniences to look at the bigger picture.
Way to go!

Another perspective.
Most of your posting was correct. However, many of you wonder why farmers are chosing to sell their ground. This used to be a farming neighborhood. However, with the closing of the crossings at Allen and Pickerington, it is going to make a severe hardship for those farmers ''still working the sod'' who have ground on either side of Rt. 33. They will have to drive their slower equipment five or ten miles further to access their farm ground on the other side of 33. Hope you all do not get too aggravated using the ''other'' routes when you get behind one of those slow moving vehicles, also needing to use the ''other'' routes. Just another perspective.
