My two cents
I guess I subscribe more to the strong silent type of leadership. We got to see some of that before the last election in both local and regional politics. I would think more highly of our officials working together behind the scenes to effect cooperation rather than these public displays of patting each other and themselves on the back and stabbing other people in the back. I think that some of the leaders mentioned in the topic of the week are looking to further themselves and bury others at the same time as more of a political statement under the guise of cooperation rather then in the cooperation itself. I also think they would be the first to accuse others of the same thing if it suited them.
I also have to weigh in the involvement of a local political club that has been tied to all of the people patting backs. While I think some of the postings here went overboard in their reproach of this club, as I am sure there are as many well-intentioned members as there are bad, still all these cooperators share a common thread beyond what they want us to believe is in the best interest of the community.
