Once again

Once again we're faced with the burden of attempting to pass a levy for our schools. But will this time they also tack on the added attraction of an operating levy and try to pass it off as a two for one?

I'm struggling to understand those that repeatedly post here that we should stick with the current school board just because no one else would run last time. This does not make any sense to me what so ever. Aren't these the same people that complain that many who post here need to let go of their anger of the debacle construction of Pick North? Yet they constantly roll out their complaints of ''no one wanted to run last time'' when a posting of criticism of the school appears on these pages.

While I think the resignation of the school board is a drastic step, I'm not sure that I disagree. But perhaps a couple need to step aside and allow a new voice to be heard.

Only two.....

Only two of the existing school board members were on the Board of Education when they voted to put North & Lakeview on the ballot.

Wes Monhollen did not take office until the following January & Brink & Reade took office in 2004.

Advocating

I was not advocating we stick with the current board. What I was pointing out was that in our very recent past everyone who is complaining about the board had the opportunity to do something about it and no one stepped up to the plate.

Has it suddenly changed that we have 5 people in the community who are willing to place a target on their back and run or be appointed to the school board? I don't think so.

I'm highly doubful I'll see ''Central Mom'' on the ballot the next time there's an election.

I'm not blaming the current board for the sins of the past. It's time to move on. They have tried various approaches to fixing the overcrowding and each time they have it's been shot down.

The insanity of thinking 'everyone resign' is some silver bullet if laughable.

But to the members of the school board - please do as many are advocating here. Everyone resign, this community deserves it, I'm curious to see who's willing to take your place. I'm know I'm not.

Need to go

I don't think they all need to go. Just Oakes, Monhallen and Reade.

Oakes is too political, she is entrenched in the local and county Republican party and politics have nothing to do with schools. Also, she claims to have only run because no one else would. That's a crock and people need to stop spending that B.S. She only ran again because she was guaranteed a win. I personally heard her fail to answer questions about her platform before last years election because she had no clue what to do so decided to joke her way through a response. See ya.

Monhallen - no new ideas... time for you to go. Same as Oakes with the only ran cause no one else would. Bye-bye Wes.

Reade - Refuses to listen to the public and sticks to her agenda as though it was etched in stone. Lisa, the public elected you and they are saying no to two elementary schools, perhaps you should disengage your mouth and engage your ears. Also, don't think that we've forgotten how you inflated the growth numbers last year to the press until Ted Hackworth caught you in your lies. Hit the road.

While these three remain on the school board and continue to lead this district down the tubes, my vote will be NO!
