$60,000,000 - that's a lot of $$

Go biotch at your illustrious councilmen and trustees and tell them to SLOW THE GROWTH!!

There are obviously more of no voters than yes voters and I don't expect that trend to change anytime soon.

Once the growth is actually slowed in truth and not in words then we can perhaps begin the catch up game with the schools. If the schools are the reason everyone comes here then that reason seems to be going away.

Tell people like Jeff Fix to quit wasting time trying to give away the city to the township and get back to slowing growth. Tell Keith Smith that he doesn't need to rewrite state law into local law, spend his time slowing growth as he promised. Tell Hammond to DO SOMETHING for a change. That's why she was elected in case she forgot. Here's an idea Christy - SLOW GROWTH. Somebody nudge Heidi Riggs and tell her to wake up and do what she promised and slow growth. Hey Ted and Brian, you get all the press. How about taking the opportunity to tell us how you are slowing growth instead of wasting words over paper townships.

You all think you have taken measures to slow growth but guess what? They ain?’t working friends!! Maybe it?’s time you tweaked your measure some and slow the growth so these irritable YES voters will shut up.
Blame taken out on wrong group

I have complained to the council members and anyone who will listen about the growth and how it needs to be slowed.

I do not blame the PLSD for the growth. Their job is to manage the schools and educate our kids. I will not stop supporting them because the council members are not slowing down growth
Good Luck

Why can't the school board come up with a TWO story elementary school plan with long narrow teaching wings and install an elevator? On the lot at Sycamore Creek they could build two stories above grade of the west side and the east side would have three stories utilizing the slope grade. I have been around Ohio and I have seen some very nice looking multilevel elementary schools and they are very functional. Yes; pod teaching can be accomplished in a two story structure.

What I am afraid is going to happen here is that this levy will fail and we fall further behind. Raising the request will not impress the voters and their tax revolution. If we could cut the size of he school down we could also save substantial amounts of money.

There seems to be some kind of belief that we must follow the state mandated specifications of 120 square feet per student for an elementary school. I believe the board has the right to build the school at 75 sq ft or 95 sq ft; not necessarily the 120 sq ft per student. All of which would cut costs for the district tax payers.

I know, I know, the state funding. None of that is guaranteed and if we blow all of our tax dollars now on buildings nearly twice the size of Pickerington and Violet elementaries then what have we saved if the State does comes in and hands us $35 million in 2010.

What happens if Council and the Township actually control growth in a few years? Will we still qualify for that funding? What happens if the housing market continues to tank?

It stated in the paper that we could fill an elementary school today with 750 students. Why not built that one school? Granted we don't get rid if the portables but we do keep the taxpayers solvent and we can find out if they are willing to support their schools. Put the kindergarteners in a groups setting of modulars.

I am afraid we have spent $25K on a study that is flawed and it has been given to the school administrators with NO COMMON SENSE attached and they have come of with the three over sized schools.

Bring on the portables.

Try Again

The state funding (assuming we meet criteria) _is_ guaranteed. The legislature has no say in the matter at all. Do your homework.

Oh and by the way, in this state you have use union labor for public projects.
