to councilman Brian:

Brian,

I am disappointed, you let them manuever behind your back, obviously the Law Director had to research this before the meeting, at the request of either Fix or the Mayor... see transcript below...Please bring your appointment book next time to head them off at the pass.

From one who has seen so much in the past on city council...remember the councilmatic waiver days from the Bushman era...when annexations and rezonings did not even go to committee for any consideration...they went straight to full council, no debate, and emergency legislation passage, quite a few pre annexation agreements that you are saddled with today, rezonings and fee waivers for developers that have cost the city many millions of dollars, were handled this way from 1999 on, yes ...I said no debate, public hearing, nothing...I was looking for Shaver to resurect this, thankfully he did not but he did go down that road and it is the wrong road.

I cannot seee the rush here...somebody knows why.

I urge one of the four votes to reconsider, yes an agreement with the township is desired by all, but only a fair agreement, both sides will have to give up something.

I can also see other partners apparent if Pickerington does not forge a cooperative agreement, Canal, Lithopolis, Carrol! If I were you.... I would check commercial real estate listings, maybe somebody wants to sell some land, lots of land, and not be saddled by city design standards or impact fees and maybe they are pushing this agreement in its current form in order to maximize their return on the raw land.

exerpt below:

Mr. Hartmann: I have looked, and I can refer you to the section, it is Section 220.04(G), ?“Mandatory Referral.?” All it says is, ?“All ordinances and resolutions shall be referred to an appropriate committee for review and recommendation prior to final action by Council.?” When I read that, all it means is there is always going to be overlapping committees that could hear things. We?’ve had things that have been in two committees, and there is nothing that prohibits it from being moved from one committee to another. I?’ve read through the entire Administrative Code and talked with Lynda if there has ever been anything that came up in the past, and also the way I read this is, and how I believe it has worked in the past, is that we have had things before Council simultaneous with it being in committee. So, I mean that is also an option. I don?’t think it requires anybody but one council member wanting to put something on the agenda. That is one of your rights under your Charter, that you can propose legislation. I mean, if it would get voted down at council, then obviously in the committee it would be, I assume, dead, but it can be put before a vote without council manic action either, it just cannot pass finally without council manic action or

I am sure you know more than you are letting on, but being President of Council can only go so far. Mr. Wisniewski is a god fearing man who actually lives up to his Church teachings. The moral standard that Brian has set over the last 10 months was APPARENTLY too high for some on the Pickerington City council to live up to.

How can law makers on our City Council expect the citizens to obey the laws they pass when some of them can't obey the laws already in place in our state. Using the ''Demon Rum'' to gain votes and plot strategy is not something Brian would ever consider. The devil is clearly at work in our city government. I was told a long time ago that Mayor Shaver wanted to do away with the prayer at the beginning of the City Council meetings. His justification was that he ''believed'' in separation of ''Church and State''. I understand that Mr. Wisniewski unloaded on the Mayor and they keep the prayer in place prior to the meetings. However the Mayor is getting his way by not inviting clergy or they refuse to attend much like his priest at Seton Parish.

So the real question we are faced with this morning is there room for god fearing moral people to serve in our government or must we accept the ''Dirty Rotten Scoundrels'' that have taken over the majority of the Pickerington City Council?

Is complacency the work of the devil? Do you feel so secure in your city government that you are willing to sit at home and allow ''deals'' to be made while the minority of council tries to protect the interests of its citizens. This PATA organization was the result of many concerned citizens in the community concerned about our school over crowding and here there is an agreement they will open the door wide open for home builders to fill the remaining lands in the township with homes.

The choice is with every citizen in this community. You can remain at home next Thursday on October 12th, (service Committee) then October 24th (council meeting), November 7th (council meeting) and then November 21st (council meeting).

I will tell you better darn well be paying attention because your city and your school district are about to be sold down the drain by a snake oil salesman (Councilman Fix). He will be taking credit of this agreement and get elected to the county commissioner job before any of you know what hit you. When the real problems start he will be firmly entrenched down at the county allowing more housing to overcrowding our schools.

I can probably predict that not too many will attend service committee, I can also predict that we will continue to elect those who may steer the city down a path, one way or the other, the path goes North and South, depending on who is in charge. It will not take much to get the prior administration back into power.

As far as Fix as County Comish...it will not happen, he is not willing to work hard enough to get there and there are a lot of intelligent voters that do not live in Violet Township who can spot a snake oil salesman when they shake his hand.

I think Lee Gray will run for commissioner, Daryl needs a good man in that office since his interests are now in that location.

I went ahead and took the initiative to reserve tables for the ''after meetings''. I need to hear back from the City Manager or the Mayor as to how many chairs you need and if you want me to go ahead and get some pizzas ready.

Don't forget that with parties of 8 or more, a 15% gratuity will be automatically added to your bill.

PS - 15% more will buy you closed ears from our patrons (wink)
