Didn't happen
Dan -
What you worried about did not happen at the meeting last night. I haven't heard anything that would indicate it would. Have you heard this discussed? Where?
I believe if the School Board was not able to build a school on the property (Sycamore Creek) by Dec 2010 it reverted back to the developer who would add more apartments to the development.

I have to agree
Realist, take you infuriation to the board. Go ask them why there was no discussion regarding the retirement notice. I heard a moth ago that one of the more ego-vocal members of the board told a couple of people at a bond booster meeting that Thiede wouldn't get the votes needed to renew.
I give the guy credit for sticking to the cause during the rest of the campaign knowing he wouldn't be renewed.
Now we have to suffer through an indeterminable time of unsettlement and uncertainty while the equally egocentric Reade shops for a super that will wash her car and pick up her dry cleaning. Unfortunately with that time of unsettlement and uncertainty comes good old Lew Stemen.
I am so sorry for the staff and administration on that one.

Is This True?
The previous posting includes this: ''I heard a moth ago that one of the more ego-vocal members of the board told a couple of people at a bond booster meeting that Thiede wouldn't get the votes needed to renew.''
If this is true, it shows a true lack of class. This board member (let's face it, we know who you're talking about) needs to be held accountable for her lack of discretion. Why is she spreading gossip at a meeting of school supporters? More directly to the point, who does she think she is? She probably wanted to look really important to her little followers! But it's the entire school district she's screwing while building up her own ego.
There's not much we can do about her now, but if she's planning to run for re-election, we need to support someone to run against her. Someone whose ego fills only half of the room, not the whole thing!
