O'Brien, continued...
It?’s funny that you mentioned Mitch O?’Brien. In the last two weeks I have spoken to him and several other former elected officials. Each and every one of them was adamantly opposed to the economic agreement package. Each of them cited the supposed JEDD already in process that seemed to have vanished into thin air, if it ever really existed and other examples of the township promising and never delivering much like the sponsor of the legislation. Each and every one of them agreed that cooperation with the township was important to the overall health of the community. Each and every one of them stated firmly that giving up the city?’s rights to annex and conform our boundaries were a fool?’s move. Each and every one of them cited philosophical differences existed between them, as I told each I had talked to the others, but all were firmly united in their opposition to the economic agreement.
So now we get back to the experience of those for and those against the agreement. Clearly the former elected officials and the current minority of council have more experience collectively behind them now than the supporters of the agreement have or could have in this lifetime.
Who do we believe?
Maybe this referendum/initiative group (are you reading this Governor?) should make the same contacts I did to see if the former elected officials of Pickerington will pit aside their political and philosophical differences to come together and stand against this fool?’s errand we have embarked on.
