That Wasn't The Question
I respect and admire Dr. Thiede, and I certainly can't blame him for wanting to do something else. He was and is truly an asset, and he will be difficult to replace.
Having said that, I have to point out that it wasn't the question. The question is whether a board member told someone or some people at a bond issue meeting that Thiede wouldn't get the votes needed to renew.
Do you understand the difference? The question isn't about Thiede's decision, which I respect. The question has to do with a board member's alleged actions.
Keep in mind, all board members who are reading this: if this is true, then at least one person was on the receiving end of this communication, and another person felt compelled to post it on this site.
This all means that most likely many people know about it second, third or fourth hand. You know - they told two friends, who told two friends, and so on, and so on.
So it may or may not be true that the board wouldn't have voted to renew his contract. The board member could have just been trying to impress people by making it up.
Again, this isn't about Thiede's decision. I respect his decision and I respect him. It's about a board member's alleged actions.
