Nice job Jeff
Doesn't it say that if the city does any abatements on this annexed property then they must reimburse the township for lost taxes? So doesn't that mean the township trustees are not equal partners here and the city is agreeing to reimburse the township for ANY loses they may incur. Since the city can not remove the territory from the township wouldn't they also continue to receive the Fire Levy and the Administrative Levy (inside millage). Doesn't the inside millage go to their general fund so they can use it for law suits? Most of the vacant farm land on the borders of Pickerington and it is being farmed is valued at agriculture values which means the township currently gets a few dollars each year for their road and bridge levy and inside millage. So if they have a 100 acres that is paying $87 per year in property taxes and that property is developed into an office park like the agreement says then the township will continue to receive that inside millage property tax. They make out like bandits in either scenario. NICE JOB JEFF! I bet Burger King is glad you work for Steak Escape.
