Oh, there you go
Wondered how long until you would start picking on Riggs. Gee, how will you manage to keep up with all these people and their dumpsters? Better call a special meeting and organize! I'm sure you have plenty of time to do so.

It's easy to be ignorant
I'm not a huge fan of a lot of these people, but...good Lord get past your blinding hatred and realize the lap dog you've become. Blackwell gave the severance packages because, due to a succession of GOP administrations in the SOS' office, a lot of those people had been there a really long time. Naturally, instead of relying on that institutional knowledge, Brunner would (and did) just dump them.
I suppose this really gets to the issue of what a lot of you people (on both sides) are about: just viscerally trash your opponents as corrupt or incompetent or whatever and let the dust settle as it may. The idea that there either 1) no sensitive information was in the dumpster, or 2) it was (at least somewhat) rigged IS not only feasible but not entirely unlikely.
Of course, in your world, and despite my being no fan of the mayor's, now I'll be lumped in with the other crowd. It's easy to be ignorant.

Motto of the story:
Politics is not fun. The issue really is: How nasty can politics become in Pickerington? Unfortunately, politics seems to not only be an ''interest'' for some, but a contest of ''who can I make look bad?'' Can I skew things to reflect my views and favor my candidate? Seeing things on the local level and how info is shaped to reflect how newspeople and others want to portray it makes me really wonder what presidential candidates and those holding our highest offices go through. There must be a lot of distortion of facts all the way around to shape things one way or another. That's a fish bowl that really would be awful to be in!
Stories about Pickerington in the news always seem to be about someone slamming someone else. Are there no real news stories to report on in Pickerington that the only way the media comes here is for a gossipy story? And who are you people snooping through trash?
You may be succeeding in making some innocent people who really care about the city look bad, but you are also casting an image of Pickerington as a petty town where people go through their political opponents' trash and watch their every move--waiting for something to use against them and skew.
Coworkers have said to me that Pickerington must be an awful place to live. But, I've told them that the place on the news is not the town I live in and those dumpster divers sure aren't my neighbors.
