Violet Township Trustee??

Something to think about

Did you ever stop and think about why former foes may be banding together? Even though former mayors and former council people may have not seen eye to eye in the past, they've always had a common thread. Deep down, they've all had what they considered the City's best interest at heart.

These former public officials have come out of retirement because they are appalled at the proposed economic agreement. They are banding together to give their support to the 3 councilmen who are doing all they can to inform the public of the repercussions of the agreement.

Personally, I think it makes a HUGE statement when these former enemies band together to fight a common battle. Just some food for thought.....
thought about it

You have a good point, and in the case of most of the players they have the city's interest at heart for the right reasons, and that is their sole reason for being in service.... but a few of the former city servants , had this habit of getting too close to those with other interests in mind, interests like real estate, and business interests where the appearance of favors that allegedly appeared began to mix in with the interests of the city when decisions were made and plans were crafted.

We do not need that back in city hall, we do not need that in the township government.

Take a look at the maginitude of the value of incentives given away and the profit on raw land transactions after services are provided, this is not small time ball game, the interested players in government must be clean of this mix, so that they can represent the taxpayers who do not have investments in real estate deals other than their own homes.
The difference is?

Thank you JEFF.

I see no differnce between you giving away all of these CITY TAXPAYER incentives to the township trustees and these former elected officals giving away CITY TAXPAYER incentives to the developers.

No difference what so ever.
Who has the vision?

It seems interesting to note here that one of the last comments was if you owned more than your home in this community then that disqualified you from public office. Yet didn?’t we hear from Fix that those that supported this development agreement were successful like himself? When comments were made here on this site about a certain councilmember and a traffic accident with public record to back it up the web master removed the posting saying it was ?“slanderous.?” Yet for years this PATA web site and it newsletter blasted with no evidence to support their claims that some how the former Mayor buying a strip mall was illegal or a back door pay off for decisions he made while in office. What was left off was the fact that the Mayor has no vote in these matters. Second if there were pay offs wouldn?’t you think Parker could have afforded a new van by now?

Stop and think about something here. We have a former Mayor that started his own pizza business. He was not a mid-level-management EMPLOYEE taking orders from the real brains of the outfit. The former Mayor took the risks. The mid-level manager took no risks. The fact the former Mayor was able to leveraged his pizza parlor holdings into other investments in his home town to increase his investment portfolio only shows me that this is more about the green eyed monster than honest government and being in office for the right reasons. When the school boundary community was creating the rich district and the poor district you saw this former Mayor expressing his concerns. I didn?’t see Fix and Weltlich doing the same. They either didn?’t care or they were busy with more important projects. Like sticking it to the city taxpayers.

It was brought up here that the former mayor offered his services and consultation to Gary Weltlich when he ran for office in 1999. Apparently there was a disagreement and the effort fell through. Apparently the Trustee got what he wanted from Mr. Gray and then tossed him aside. It appears we have a character flaw in Mr. Weltlich in that he uses people and then walks away from them after they can no longer serve the trustee?‘s purpose. David are you paying attention here? Fix you paying attention?

Stroke the ego, kiss their hand (if they are a woman) and use them for what ever you need and then stick it to them when you get the chance. With the NW club Fix and Weltlich felt secure with their political base . However after months of bashing the founding members of that club the negative energy is turning against them. They are a small insignificant club now with very little political influence left. Continued bashing will only continue the erosion of the membership. When those founding members left so did the club?’s credibility.

At least Mayor Gray sticks by his supporters
