Pickerington Area Taxpayers Alliance

New Poster

Posted in: PATA
I am a new poster to this web site. And I have to take excepion to the ASSUMPTIONS poster under the NEW BUT WHERE? posting.

Your mean spiritedness of telling others here they are hallucinating is why you supporters of Mrs. Reade are losing ground.

Go back several postings ago when the public was warned about this new school site needing many improvements and another site was being offered, but not given much consideration.

Now I see in the Southeast Messenger that there is a road realignment (a proposed Old Tollgate Road and a proposed New Tollgate Road) indeed coming true. These aren't any hallucinations now.

Secondly, I see it will line up to the Hunnington Hills entrance. Were the people of Hunnington Hills ever consulted about this? Will there be a traffic light there? Will we taxpayers buy the light and pay for the new road?

I guess I'll be railed upon for getting involved, but I'm not hallucinating when my tax bill goes up. I guess you can try and blame the city again somehow, but this school is so far away from the city none of their kids will probably go here.

Told you so

Go back and read my posting from 2/16 and the 28 responses it generated.

Did I call this one???

The board members are in the same EGO league as the council members and trustees.

The board itself is in the same omnipotence league as council and the board of trustees.

Hey, it's just our tax dollars, right?

I voted FOR the construction levy but they never told me I was going to pay for road widenings, realignments, traffic signals and all this other crap that the township and county should be paying for. They also didn't tell me I was paying for water and sewer lines that a whole residential development will benefit from.

They told me (and I stupidly believed them) that they were building SCHOOLS!

By Told you do
seems like

Gee when a developer builds, they now are responsible for upgrading the roads, putting in turn lanes etc...oh I forgot except in Pickerington or the township when a deal is made to waive that requirement.

I think the roads should be a part of this school package, if not it is left to the city or township to do later, and they do it later, much later, usually after the school opens, and sometimes not at all, just look at the roads around most of our schools now, a patchwork of poorly designed access and band aid fixes to try to mitigate the impact of the schools.

Plan it right do it right, it is all tax money, just coming out of a different pocket.
Just the facts, ma'am

Yes, there were rumors floating on this website about another property offer to the schools. Yet the poster(s) refused to give the pertinent facts: who, what, when, where, why and how.

It was just another hallucination, I guess.
