Pickerington Area Taxpayers Alliance

New information available

It seems Councilman Wisniewski has finally updated his site to include the truth about Issue 9 and clarifications on the propaganda put out by the NW Club and Fix's minions.

Interesting is that it appears that the propaganda, while not called lies by Wisniewski, are indeed lies. With any luck someone has already file a complaint with both the Board of Elections and the Secretary of State's office. In addition, it appears there is some violation of attorney-client rules. Should this be construed as information that was provided in an Executive Session has made it to a propaganda sheet?

Shame, shame, shame.

Desperate times apparently make desperate men make desperate decisions.
Former Elected Officials

I've heard that some of the former elected officials that have been a party to Issue 9 include former Mayor Lee Gray and former Councilman Craig Maxey. Is this true? If so, why are they so interested in this issue being passed? I thought they were bad for Pickerington, and were responsible for a lot of the growth problems Pickerington is digging itself out of today. I thought that is why the group of 4 in 2003, including Brian Wisniewski and Ted Hackworth, fought so hard to get rid of them. Why are they now aligning themselves with them? Just an honest question.
Fact and Fiction

Why is it 15+ other concerned citizens got involved with this issue who aren't ''aligned'' with anyone? The same reason Ted and Brian were able to see eye to eye on an issue with former foes.

Because the economic agreement that caused this amendment to come about and the course the new council majority are taking the city is dangerous and misguided. That's why!

Don't continue to try to dilute this amendment with pathetic conspiracy theories.

The question you should be is is - why does the group who's opposing this amendment have to resort to lies in their flyer to convince the public to vote no?

Response

I'm sure Lee Gray and Craig Maxey can find 15 supporters somewhere. Don't try and act like this group of citizens came together without some prodding from somewhere. One begins to wonder if these 15 or so supporters are not individuals interested in an old agenda that was soundly defeated. Sounds like a wolf in sheep's clothing to me.

How is it dangerous when a majority of City Council votes to cooperate with Violet Township to benefit the city by garnering income from land that it otherwise would never receive one penny from? You're telling me that it is better to annex land, pay attorneys to fight in court, force the taxpayers to pay the attorneys, then possibly get the land and only be able to build more strip malls and grocery stores on it? We all know that strip malls and grocery stores bring in nominal income at best anyway. Why not cooperate and go for a big business that makes real contributions to the community?

Regarding conspiracy theories, it is usually a pretty good indicator of the direction of a policy when you see former supporters of boundary conforming and annex hungry government pushing an issue. You can kid yourself all you want, but that is the perception.

Lastly, if this group is fighting so hard to protect conforming boundaries and annexation rights, why in the world would anyone believe that they did not intend to do just that? Brian Wisniewski's argument in that respect rings a little hollow to me.

Just some further thoughts, questions, and comments by a concerned citizen.
