Road Fairy

If you look beyond the obvious tax implications we can also look at the way the trustees look at the residents that live in the adjacent sub-division. The residents attended the township re-zoning meetings and their concerns were ignored by the Trustees. I am sure if the city was putting up a 25,000 sq ft office park in Gary Weltlich's front yard he would be all over the City and he would have a much different attitude for these residents.

However he simply has an arrogant attitude much like the Fix model already displayed in December and these citizens don't matter. Both of these elected officials have very simplistic attitudes about how we should all develop. As long at it is not in their back yard or front yard they are fine with anything being proposed.

In 2004 the unincorporated areas of Violet Township update their land use plans and nothing in those plans indicate any future planning for a commercial development. They left everything as residential zoning and have no idea how these properties will develop which requires some infrastructure to be provided. Oh I guess I missed the footnotes. Something about the road fairy, the sewer fairy, and the water fairy.

I understand the JEDD MOU they are proposing is a wait and see plan. Wait and see who they can sucker into being one of the fairies

Residents have other problems...

The residents of Sheffield have enough other problems to worry about thanks to our caring City Council. You can talk all you want about the Township but the City Council that zoned this sub division did a number on the City.

Maronda is about the worst builder in Central Ohio, you can have all the design standards you want but trash is trash & with a few more tree's & shrubs - here's a newsflash - it's still trash. You don't have to worry about the expensive builders in the City. Not one of them will build next to the mass of starter home neighborhoods that were voted in by emergency legislation.

Congratulations you got exactly what they wanted & you didn't need Fix at all.
Residents should have a problem

Get your facts straight before you type, nimrod. The city didn't sell the Sheffield land to Maronda, the land owner did. It wasn't zoned by emergency. The land further toward 33 had emergency used there. Those $250k plus homes. Take a minute and go to city hall and get it right. You'll need to dig back to 1995 or 96. Lastly, are you calling the people there trash or the homes trash? Just want to get a feel for what kind of loser I'm dealing with. Thanks for the posting, big spender.

By Anonymous, but not stupid
Your are way off the mark

I live in Sheffield development and I am hardly what you call trash and what I own and live in is not by a long shot a starter home. My guess it is even better then what you live in.

Most of the people who live in the development are decent hard working people with families who take pride in what they own. Your comments are way off base and comes from your own stupidity of not knowing what you are talking about.

A majority of the homes in the development are valued from $200,000-$250,000. Hardly the price of a starter home. What is the average value of a home in Pickerington. Compare that to the homes in Sheffield and you will see they are above the average. You need to think before you write and not put down people who have done nothing wrong to you.
