Kids who don't even pay taxes
What irks me the most about this whole thing is that these ''Young Republicans'' who were talked into fighting issue 9 are hardly old enough to vote, yet alone even pay taxes.
Think about it folks---why would a group based out of the township who are not even able to vote on this issue themselves (because they don't live in the City limits) care so much about fighting Issue 9? The answer is plain and simple--the township trustees are worried about the City forming a paper township and losing the revunue the City taxpayers pay the township---over $240,000 a year to be exact.
These kids have twisted the truth and I hope this backfires in their face. Wake up and smell the coffee people---why would people in the township even care about preserving the City charter unless this Issue does something to tie their hands? City taxpayers, this is our chance for our voices to be heard and to stand up for our rights. The township needs to butt out of this. Noone has ever said a paper township would happen because of this Issue----but because to the latest developments, maybe it's time to seriouly consider doing just that.

The council majority my foot
I remember a few weeks back that the Mayor requested that the City Council vote on two different resolutions. Just before the meeting the council voted to amend the council agenda for that evening and the two resolutions were removed. In its place was a document to be authored by Jeff Fix and Brian Wisniewski explaining both sides of the issue. If the council majority truly supported the opposition to issue 9 wouldn't they have either spoke out about it, voted a couple of weeks ago at council or at the very least allowed their name to be printed on this flyer?
I am going to be waiting for these young men to apear on my door step and they will receive a good ass-chewing.
