Did she really say that??!!

Isn't that the beauty of PATA?

Isn't that the beauty of PATA?

Folks have a platform to say anything they want about anything or anybody. No facts are needed, just a healthy grudge. Sit back with a cup of coffee and bash to our hearts content.

None of us are willing to do much more than that so I wouldn't get so upset about postings here. Most of it is just hot air.

These same people that can find their polling location with incredible ease could also find accurate information on the levy - google works for that too.

Or we could get off our collective asses & help - either to pass the levy or rally against it. But that would take effort & gasp maybe money out of our own pockets and don't forget my time. While we're happy to spend your time PLEASE don't suggest that I use my own!
Six people can't do it all

Maybe if more people got involved on either side the information would get out. When we have a apathetic group of parents that will only get invloved if it has to do with their kids sports, what is the committee to do? It looked to me that the committee gave a valiant effort. I agree that the information did not get out this election like it did for the bond. Not enough people to make calls, knock on doors, etc. With that said, still no excuse for not understanding what the levy is about and how important it is for our community.

Literature

I got levy information in my mail, and I personally placed information on the front doors of several houses in my neighborhood. My kids also brought home book marks, with information, from school. I also participated in Mine & 9 and sent out letters with levy info.

Maybe there weren't enough volunteers to hand distribute or mail info this time, but the commitee didn't fail by not having the information printed.
Missing the point

You must be Cathy Olshefski, because you've totally missed the point.

The board spent $35,000 of taxpayers money to put the levy on the May ballot. The levy campaign committee spent donors' dollars to print up campaign literature, only to have it sit around while the volunteers had their little party at The Wine Guy.

Then the board and the volunteers get mad at the voters for not approving the levy.

Perhaps the reason campaign volunteers are dwindling away is the lack of a clue in the leadership of the committee.

Whatever you do, don't ask any elected officials how to win at the polls on election day. Certainly don't ask Lisa Reade about all the doors she knocked on and all the asphalt she walked to ask people for their votes.

Don't worry, there's nothing to be learned here. Just move along.
