No difference

It is interesting that those people that came into office in 2003 still hang onto the past. They claim without proof that a certain Politician became rich because he served on the city government. Did any of you Einstein's ever consider that maybe the individual that bought the strip mall knew a little more then we all give him credit for? Did he parlay a Pizza business financing into buying a shopping mall. Also remember that the person you are talking about is a REPUBLICAN and was a mover and a shaker in the ''R'' party for years. What makes him different from the current Republicans?

Clearly being elected to the Republican executive committee has not had a good history of providing the City of Pickerington with ''GOOD'' ''HONEST'' candidates. We see what Fix has done and I am truly afraid for the future of the city to have yet another carpet bagger moving in from the township ''to straighten out our city government.'' At the same time wanting to give away the rights and the tax dollars of the city to the township. Frankly I see very little difference between giving it away to the township residents versus giving it away to builders.

Young Mr. Sauer has not understood that from the beginning and I doubt he ever will. He is a political opportunist just like the Brian Foxs' of the world and others seeking higher office and willing to do and say what ever to get there.

No Problems

I agree with the poster before that you just have to be careful who you take money from, but it does not mean much of anything. Supporters of a party will always support you and if they like you then no reason not to. We need a good party, and I think it is good he is involved in the community in that way.

On a side note, where did Brian move from? I thought he had lived in the city for a while now since he has been married? The person before said he was a carpet bagger, and I had no idea. All I know is that it is a thankless job to be on City Council, not sure why anyone would.

Brian sat by as the Northwest Republican club President and watched while the club screwed over Mitch O'Brien (a founding member) in 2005. Brian bought into the charade that Fix was spinning in order to garner all the clubs support into his own campaign.

Is a man that essentially sells his soul to the highest bidder someone that we want representing the city of Pickerington?

Brian W. stood up for the city

To say that the community is mostly Republican I think that is inaccurate. If you look at the last election you will find that the Democrats came out of the woodwork to vote for Strickland. I would also remind you that in the last 7 years we have had TWO high ranking Republicans go to jail and one is still serving his time.

I heard some time ago that over 90% of the county precincts are now Democratic. So I would not tout being a Republican and talk about being good for the community. You should also consider that last year the local moral Republicans put Steve Elsea up to run against an incumbent county commissioner Mike Kiger and Kiger prevailed despite not having the party's endorsement.

I see again this year that Gavin Blair and his father are running for election. Gavin is challenging one of the county commissioners. How can they call themselves good republicans when they go out and challenge the party office holders who have done nothing wrong and have worked through some tough times. Gavin is a young kid still in college who thinks he knows how to run a government. He simple lacks the maturity and I place him in the same category as Brian Sauer. Jeff Fix and his NW club have torpedoed their own republicans candidates and even endorsed independents to run against sitting council members. Has Brian Wisniewski, Ted Hackworth or Heidi Riggs did anything wrong? The fact is they are challenging these three to give total control over to the township leaning candidates and to give up the city's rights and the taxpayer dollars to the township. Sauer once in office will be a Fix puppet. That is exactly how Pickerington got into the mess back in the early 90s. Once the machine is in place it is darn near impossible to get them out.

Brian Sauer is a nice guy on the surface but lacks any independent thinking. He has played up to Fix and Weltlich for a couple of years now. Fix has been the guy causing most of the fighting on council. He uses the NW club as his personal campaign committee and you don't dare cross that line or they will seek revenge on you.

As for comparing Brian Wisniewski and Brian Sauer. Brian W. has proven himself to me and others and Brian S. has NOT. For a potential candidate to go around and hand out the lies he did to kill issue 9 a citizen initiative then I have no use for him representing me. Brian W. has stood up for the City who he is pledged to serve.
