Selling out??

Hey wiz wouldn't it better if the Oldtimer stayed here in the dostrict and paid taxes to the schools instead of moving to Florida and selling out here to a family of five?
Wal-Mart

Hey Wiz, if Wal-Mart can provide over $500,000 in property taxes per year to the schools and they have no children what is the down side? Maybe we could hire a couple of special ed teachers and improve our report card with the state.

District gaining in value

From the Schools web site: District property assessed valuation for 2005-2006 was $989,054,992.

In 2006-2007 that assessed property valuation increased by a little over 5% to: $1,041,574,223. This comes from the Fairfield County auditor's web site.

It appears that the student population will only increase less than 2% this year. That means we should see lower school taxes on the OUTSIDE MILLAGE next year based on the old valuations. That comes from Oldtimer.
