Is more money the answer

start working full time

Thank you for the beat down. Of course coming from some one that only works 186 days per year isn't much of an encouragement for me to work harder than you? Hopefully next year I will get to FOUR WEEKS of vacation and then I will be on easy street.

Second Board members should not be working hard at all for the $1,700 they receive per year in their salary. They should be hiring people that are the professional and require the performance from the administration. Too many of these board members want to micro manage and then complain about how much work they do accomplishing NOTHING.

As Katelyn points out these teachers only work 186 days per year and 7 and 1/2 hours per day. I can't remember the last 7 and 1/2 hour day that I worked. No matter how you look at it they are working part time for full time wages.
Truth

Here is another lie being propagated around the school district this afternoon. Remember now folks we have a superintendent that is retired and drawing retirement from a previous job and she is getting paid another salary from the PLSD. At the moment I do not know the exact amount of her income. However to get her words straight and to communicate with the district voters the board hired a PIO.

In the Pickerington this week this afternoon:

?“Since Ohio Law does not allow tax issues approved by voters to rise with property values, the revenue stream from this issue has remained the same for nearly 13 years.?”

This Week in Pickerington November 1st 2007.

The fact is this levy has been reset at least TWICE. That means it was voted back up to its original voted in millage. I was ask if we are paying this person and her PIO this much money couldn?’t we expect the articles in the paper to be factual? How many people now think this is the same dollars the school was receiving 13 years ago?

Just not a whiner

I am happy that our teachers only work 187 days a year. I am of the belief that these teachers could have taken their skill elsewhere and earned a ton more money. I am happy that they went the direction that they did and are teaching my children. Not bothered by how many days they work or that they have good benefits. I think that it is a perk that they deserve. Just so you know, this is coming from a person that only gets three weeks of vacation and pays $350 a month for family health insurance. By the way, the teachers that I know spend many hours a week outside of the classroom working. They are like the rest of us and bring it home. Don't be upset about your own circumstances and take it out on others.

$2.940 Million a year

You just solved any problem with having the levy fail. You say you pay $350 per month for your health benefits. I payless but I may not have as much coverage.

There are 700 teachers in the PEA. So 700 times $350 equals $245,000 per month. Then $245,000 times 12 equals $2,940,000.

Clearly the teachers if they are as dedicated as you say won't mind helping us all balance our budget.
