Here's an idea...
Perhaps you should teach your kid that in the United States we have a concept that goes something like...
...innocent before proven guilty
Or is your kid too busy serving all his detentions to spend time actually learning?

Here?’s another idea
If you had a close friend that is accused of shooting two police officers out the back door of a crack house with a large caliber hand gun and he asked for your help in getting him released wouldn?’t you feel it is reasonable to ask a few questions PRIOR to offering any help?
In this case, Derek Foster (the ex-OSU football player) ADMITS to firing the shots that hit the two police officers. He thought he was being robbed. At least that is the defense I have heard about so far.
So Mr. Reeves here are a few questions you should have asked yourself before writing any letter.
Why is your friend who has never been in trouble before hanging out in a crack house?
He has a good job with the City of Columbus and I am sure he earned enough money to support him and his family without selling crack?
Did he use the drugs himself or did you question that prior to writing your letter?
If your friend thought he was being robbed why didn?’t he call the police before shooting?
One of the charges against Mr. Foster is attempted murder. Mr. Foster has the right to a trial and to have his side of the story heard. He is assumed innocent until he is proven other wise. What Mr. Reeves and others were trying to do was to get Mr. Foster out on bail. Clearly I don?’t want someone to live next door to me that shoots first and then calls the police. He is clearly a danger to society. I think the judge in question also determined that by denying his bail.
For any of us to support the actions of or at the very least provide an excuse for Mr. Reeves?’ actions and his letter we must totally discount the official story of the police. Since Mr. Foster has admitted to firing the shots then the question is why and so far we haven?’t heard a good explanation to that part of the story.
This is very serious in my mind. Our high schools for years have had problems with physical assaults and drugs. Now we have a High School principal that is willing to believe a story of a perpetrator and not the police. I really question his attitude toward drug use a and assaults occurring in the high school. If he caught a star athlete with drugs is he going to be willing to call the police and report the incident? Or is he going to tend to over look the drug use or drug dealing because he is a good friend? Mr. Reeves is not there to be a friend he is there to be the authority figure in the absent of the parents.
I personally will not tolerate drug use or any other illegal activities in my home and I will hold the school district to the same standards. Clearly Mr. Reeves has demonstrated a willingness to over look drug use and illegal activities.

It was on school stationery
This was sending a message in itself. Was the support on behalf of the schools or the individual? He should have used his own letterhead if these were his opinions. THis is what is disturbing to me.
